on march 2013, AGS Entertainment producing 6 films and revealed that one of those would be a "racy action script". Directed by newcomer Yuvaraj bose, casting Atharvaa. Priya Anand signed for the film on august 2013. While Lakshmi Rai and Johny Tri Nguyen roped in the cast. Johny Tri Nguyen previously seen in 7am arivu film.

The team will moved up to italy to make a schedule for 20 days on october 2013. Canning scenes and songs after finishing another schedule in Puducherry. In November 2013, the unit reported that lakshmi rai will dropped from the project and a relative newcomer Joshna was roped in who shot for some sequences and a song with the cast in the Italy schedule. In Feb 2013, R Parthiepan would reported that that he would not act in the film, only directs the movie. Scripts and direction made by Parthiepan R. They began their shooting on december 2013 after Parthiepan had completed his acting assignments, with a schedule taking place in Chennai.

In the film the newcomer artists were signed as lead roles, several popular actors from the Tamil film industry were offered to play cameo roles in the film. Vijay Sethupathi first shot scenes for a day. Parthiepan stated that Arya, Amala Paul, Nazriya Nazim and Prakash Raj were the other actors who had agreed to make cameo appearances. Amala Paul was subsequently requested to appear in an extended cameo role and agreed to continue filming for scenes in Coimbatore. She shot along with Arya, whose role was also extended. Nazriya meanwhile got engaged and backed out of all her projects she had accepted, including Kathai Thiraikathai Vasanam Iyakkam and instead Taapsee Pannu worked on the film for one day. It was reported that Suriya and Dhanush were also approached which was not confirmed by the director, who instead informed that Vishal would act in a few scenes. One of the film's lead actresses was revealed to be Akhila Kishore, a model who had appeared in few Kannada films.

The music director for the movie is C Sathya. While the song features are four, various artists were composed the songs. The full album was launched on 25 May 2014.

The music director and composer for the film is Yuvan Shankar Raja. It's a fourth collaboration with director. The song features 5 songs. The grand audio launch function was released at satyam cinemas and were released on 23 July 2014. The film actors, actress, producers and directors would joined in the audio launch ceremony. Sony music india bagged the rights for the album.

In telugu audio launch function were took place at Shilpakala Vedika in Hyderabad on 31 July 2014. Actors Akkineni Nagarjuna and S. S. Rajamouli are the chief guests. This function was also attended by actor Suriya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The report said that Kamal haasan and Allu arjun would also attend the event.
