Within April 2014, Sonakshi Sinha had confirmed her involvement from the project, stating that she'd play the village lady who assists Rajinikanth's character from the film. With late April 2014, telugu actor Jagapati Babu validated on the facebook page which he was authorized on for the role from the film. Santhanam would joined the team on may 2014. Actors Radha Ravi, Vijayakumar and R Sundarrajan whether played for the important roles.
Rajinikanth played a dual role, Anushka Shetty and Sonakshi Sinha played for the lead female role.
