In June 2011, actor Vijayakanth revealed that his youngest son Shanmugapandian would be introduced as an actor in the Tamil film industry and began looking for apt scripts for his debut venture. Shanmugapandian, then a Visual Communications student at Loyola College, Chennai, began taking dance lessons and martial arts practice, to get into better physical shape before his first film. Vijayakanth initially considered remaking the Telugu film, Brindavanam as well other projects directed by K. S. Ravikumar and Hari, but later opted for an original script written by Naveen, with dialogues by Velumani. By the end of 2012, it was finalised that Vijayakanth's brother-in-law L. K. Sudhish would be the film's producer and newcomer Santhoshkumar Rajan, would be director. The film was launched on 12 December 2013 at Aandal Azhagar Illam in Saligramam, Chennai with several of Vijayakanth's contemporaries in attendance. Early reports speculated that actor Vijay and Vijayakanth himself, would play guest roles, but speculation was denied.

The film began its first schedule in and around Pollachi, Azhiyar Dam, Valparai and Anaimalai for close to a month. The second schedule of the film’s shoot was held in Kumbakonam for three weeks during when a song involving 1000 junior artistes and 200 dancers was shot for 6 days. However during production in September 2014, Santhoshkumar Rajan left the project after falling out with the producers, complaining that there was too much interference in the scripting and film-making process. Reports suggested that Vijayakanth would take over as director, though eventually another debutant Surendran, was handed the opportunity. In November 2014, it was revealed that the film's shoot was progressing in Malaysia with two former beauty pageant contestants making their film debuts as the lead actresses. Reports suggested Neha Kapur and Shubra Aiyappa were cast as heroines, while it was later clarified that Neha Hinge and not Kapur was chosen. The team later moved to film action scenes in Thailand, with Rocky Rajesh and Kecha Khamphakdee signed up as the stunt choreographers. Sound Track Enakkanavan from the vocals of Chinmayi reached audista tamiltop10 from the day of release.

The soundtrack is composed by Karthik Raja. In December 2014, Silambarasan, Andrea Jeremiah and Remya Nambeesan recorded a song for the film, which had lyrics written by Parthy Bhaskar. The soundtrack was named the best Tamil album of February 2015 by Deccan Music.

Even as protests are going on against Karthi's "Komban", the release date has been advanced by a day. As per the buzz, the Tamil film will be released on Wednesday, April 1.

"Komban" was originally planned for a release on 2 April. However, there is no official word on the revised date yet. But an online ticket-booking website has opened the advance booking for Wednesday, which has made fans believe that the movie's release could have been advanced. The film will have its first shows in the evening.

However, the movie can't be released until the court clears the film. A case has been filed against "Komban" by a group, which claims that the release may spark communal tension between two communities in the southern districts of Tamil Nadu.

Krishnaswamy, an MLA from Puthiya Tamilagam Party, had filed a petition against the movie requesting the court to stay the release. His argument was that the release would incite violence between Thevars and the Scheduled Caste community. It may be recalled that Krishnaswamy had earlier forced Kamal Haasan to change the title of the movie "Virumaandi", which was earlier christened as "Sandiyar".

After hearing arguments and counter arguments, the court appointed an expert committee to watch "Komban". The future of its release lies on the panel's verdict.

However, the movie has been cleared by the regional Censor Board. They have given 'U/A' certificate for "Komban". The movie has been directed by M Muthaiah and produced by KE Gnanavel Raja. Lakshmi Menon and Rajkiran are in the lead roles.

It may be recalled that the same situation was faced by big movies like "Vishwaroopam" and "Thalaivaa. Both the films were temporarily banned in the state following protests by fringe groups. Movies like "Thuppakki" and "Kaththi" narrowly escaped from landing in trouble.

Kaaki Sattai Movie Online BookingAbout Kaaki Sattai : -

Theatres in Tamil Nadu and other parts of South India are paving the way for the next mass Tamil release of the season. The much awaited Siva Karthikeyan starrer "Kaaki Sattai" is getting ready for a release on 27 February, 2015.

As per latest reports, the producer of the movie Dhanush is making sure that no stone is left unturned for the mass release of the movie. Though Dhanush's latest flick "Anegan" and Ajith's movie "Yennai Arindhaal" is running fairly well in theatres around the globe, the makers are trying to fit the movie in maximum theatres possible.

Reports from the industry suggest that the upcoming Siva Karthikeyan starrer has already been  assured more than 375 screens in Tamil Nadu alone. With this huge release, industry experts are now waiting to see how the movie is going to perform at the box office.

Most of the experts believe that if this entertainer could manage a decent opening, the film will have a safe run and the producers can expect a good return in their hands. They are also waiting to see whether the latest flick will be able to cover box office collection records of other recent movies like "Anegan", "Yennai Arindhaal", "Kaththi" and "I".

It will be great feat for Siva Karthikeyan if he could surpass the collections of any of these movies, considering the popularity of other stars that are mentioned in the list.

Dhanush's latest flick "Anegan" had a dream run in theatres and has reportedly collected 6.55 crore on its first day in India. Ajith's "Yennai Aindhaal" too received overwhelming response in theatres as the movie grossed ₹14.05 crore on the first day in India alone.

Other films like Rajinikanth's "Lingaa", Vikram's "I" and Vijay's "Kaththi" are the biggest openers for Tamil cinema in worldwide box office.

Rajinikanth's "Lingaa" opened to massive collection of 37 crore worldwide and Vikram's "I" had earned 34.74 crore on the release day from two versions. It is the second biggest opener after "Lingaa". Similarly, Vijay's "Kaththi", which was released last Diwali grossed 23.80 crore worldwide. In Tamil Nadu, the movie had earned around 12 crore.

Considering the expectations from "Kaaki Sattai", many believe that the film is capable of rewriting many box office numbers.
Directed by Durai Senthil Kumar, film is touted as an action-comedy entertainer with all the commercial elements. This is the second time that Siva Karthikeyan has teamed up with director Durai Senthil Kumar after the blockbuster "Ethir Neechal."
